You may be wondering exactly how baseball as well as comics are connected. Well, checked out on as well as all will be exposed as I provide you a glimpse behind the scenes at Westfield.

One of the reasons I enjoy working at Westfield is that I like comics. I truly do. I believe it’s a great medium for storytelling as well as comics have brought me many hours of joy over the years. I like being able to pass on that like as well as joy of comics to others.

A second reason I enjoy working right here is the environment of the workplace. Yes, we are extremely serious about what we do here. However, we likewise understand exactly how to enjoy ourselves. laughter is a routine part of the working day. I’ve made some extremely dear buddies here. When my feline Sebastian passed away last year, the condolences as well as care expressed by my coworkers assisted get me with a extremely difficult time. It is kind of like a household (I’m the weird uncle).

We likewise get together outside of work. This past Friday was our third annual trip to a Madison Mallards game. The Mallards are a regional baseball team that is part of the Northwoods League. The league has teams in Wisconsin, Minnesota, as well as Michigan as well as features college players who want to hone their skills by getting more playing time during the summer. These games are always a fantastic time – myself as well as fellow Westfielder Mary Carter are big Mallards advocate s– with great baseball, occasional guest stars such as wrestling legend Sgt. Slaughter as well as actor James finest (who played Sherriff Rosco P. Coltrane among many other roles), fun games between innings with the dizzy bat spin being a crowd favorite, as well as great deals more. It’s a fantastic evening of entertainment that doesn’t break the bank. I realized I was ending up being a routine at the Duck Pond (the familiar name for their stadium at Warner Park) when one of the vendors who goes just by “Beer Man” started acknowledging me. He’s a nice guy as well as we always take a long time to talk at each game. Oh – if you’re into baseball keeps your eyes open for a guy named Harold Riggins. He’s gonna be huge one day. trust me on this.

On this especially gorgeous Saturday evening, we got to watch the Mallards clobber the La Crosse Loggers 12-1 with the huge strike coming in the bottom of the second when Jon Pierre “Jumpy” Garcia hit a grand slam. It was a thing of incredible beauty. all of us had a wonderful time at the game, chowing down on traditional ballpark fare, as well as just enjoying each others company. It was a fun evening as well as a reminder of why I like what I do.

Now, go checked out a comic!
